Technology That Makes Safety Easier to Manage
We combine expert health and safety advice with practical software and intelligent tools, so businesses can manage safety properly, not just record it.
Why We Build Technology as Well as Provide Consultancy
Most businesses end up in one of two situations. They bring in a consultant who produces a folder of documents and then leaves. Or they buy a software tool that nobody really uses because there is no expert behind it to make it work in practice. Safety Assistance is built to do both.
Our technology is designed to be used by the people who actually do the work, supervisors, contractors, site managers and frontline workers – not just the health and safety professional sitting in an office. That means it needs to be straightforward, fast and genuinely useful on site as well as in the boardroom.
If your team is currently managing safety through spreadsheets, Word documents, paper forms, SharePoint folders or several disconnected systems, our products are built to replace that with something that actually works together. The goal is not more administration it is less, with better visibility and fewer things falling through the gaps.
Safety Mate® Health and Safety Management Platform
Safety Mate® is a web and mobile platform for managing health and safety across an organisation. It brings together the core safety processes that most businesses currently handle in separate places, and puts them in one system that everyone can access and use.
Key capabilities include risk assessments and RAMS, incident and near-miss reporting, audits and inspections, corrective actions, COSHH records, equipment management and pre-use checks, training and competency records, and safety documents and briefings with digital sign-off.
Safety Mate® also includes AI-assisted drafting for things like risk assessments and policies. This produces a working draft that someone competent then reviews, edits and approves before it is used. The AI is there to save time on the initial write-up the professional judgement still comes from your team or ours.
The mobile app for iOS and Android lets frontline workers report incidents, complete inspections, view and sign safety documents, scan equipment QR codes and work offline before syncing when they reconnect. Safety Mate® is configurable for small teams through to large multi-site organisations, and is available as a standalone product or alongside a Safety Assistance consultancy service.
Fast RAMS - Mobile RAMS Builder for small contractors
Fast RAMS is a mobile-first app for creating, managing, signing and sharing Risk Assessments and Method Statements quickly. It is aimed at contractors, site managers and health and safety managers who need to produce RAMS regularly often from site rather than from a desk.
The app guides users through a five-stage process covering project details, risks, methodology, resources and sign-off. It includes pre-populated hazards and control measures, risk scoring, digital signatures and approval workflows, PDF export with company branding, cloud storage and the ability to brief workers in-app with a signature record.
Fast RAMS also supports CoSHH assessments and lets users duplicate previous documents for similar jobs, which saves significant time when work is repetitive. Completed documents can be shared with clients or contractors directly from the app.
There is a free tier and a paid plan available. Visit fastrams.com for current pricing and to download the app for iOS or Android.
AI for Health and Safety, Intelligent Tools to Identify and Act on Risk Earlier
The third area of Safety Assistance Limited’s technology arm is Horizon Semantics – our AI product range covering camera systems, agentic AI and horizon scanning for risk management. The aim is to move safety management from simply recording what has already happened to identifying and addressing risk before it causes harm.
Horizon Semantics includes AI safety camera systems that can be connected to existing CCTV or IP cameras, or deployed as managed devices. These can detect PPE non-compliance, people entering exclusion zones, plant and pedestrian proximity risks, and other configurable hazards. Events feed through to Safety Mate® analytics so organisations can identify patterns and repeated high-risk locations.
Safety Mate® AI acts as an agentic safety manager inside the platform. It can identify overdue inspections, flag expired training records, chase corrective actions, monitor open incidents and help prepare management reports reducing the administrative burden on safety managers and making it harder for important tasks to be missed.
Predictive analytics and dynamic risk scoring are also part of the Horizon Semantics roadmap, giving organisations a continuously updated picture of where risk is increasing rather than a static snapshot. Human review and approval remain central to how all of these tools work the technology supports decision-making; it does not replace it.
Consultancy and Technology Together
The consultancy and the technology are designed to work together across the full client journey. Safety Assistance helps organisations understand their risks, improve their safety management systems and meet their compliance requirements through expert consultancy. The products then give those organisations the tools to manage safety effectively day to day, without needing to rely on a consultant for every task.
This means clients get practical advice and implementation support, not just a software licence. If you need help understanding what your business actually needs to do, we can work through that with you. If you then need a system to manage it going forward, the technology is there to support that.
Consultancy and technology can also be taken separately. Some organisations come to us purely for consultancy support. Others use Safety Mate® or Fast RAMS as standalone products.
Common Questions About Our Technology
Do I need to use the software to work with Safety Assistance?
No. Our consultancy services and technology products can be taken separately or together. Some clients work with us purely for consultancy support. Others use Safety Mate® or Fast RAMS as standalone products without any consultancy arrangement.
Is Safety Mate® suitable for small businesses?
Yes. Safety Mate® is configurable for organisations of different sizes, from small teams through to large multi-site businesses. The system is set up to reflect your structure and workflows, so you are not paying for complexity you do not need. If you are unsure whether it is the right fit, booking a demo is the best way to find out.
Is AI-generated content in Safety Mate® or Fast RAMS ready to use straight away?
No. AI-assisted drafting produces a working draft that must be reviewed, edited and approved by a competent person before it is used. The AI is there to save time on the initial write-up. The professional judgement and the responsibility for the final document remains with the person approving it. We are clear about this in how the tools are designed and how we advise clients to use them.
