Practical Health & Safety Support for UK Businesses
We help UK businesses manage health and safety properly — from expert advice and consultancy through to the software and technology that makes it easier to manage day to day.
One partner for the full journey
Most businesses need two things when it comes to health and safety: expert guidance to understand what they need to do, and a reliable way to manage it once they know. Safety Assistance provides both. Our consultancy team helps organisations identify risks, meet their legal obligations, improve their safety management systems and handle specific challenges — from fire risk assessments to incident investigations. Our software products then give those organisations the tools to manage safety work consistently, day to day.
Many of our clients come to us because they are managing safety across spreadsheets, paper forms and shared folders, and it is becoming difficult to keep on top of. Others need a qualified professional to act as their competent person, carry out an audit or support an accreditation application. Whether you need one service or several, we work with you as an extension of your team rather than a distant supplier.
We cover the whole of the UK and our team are qualified health and safety professionals. If you are not sure where to start, a short discovery call is the easiest way to work out what would actually help.

Software and Technology Products
Alongside our consultancy, Safety Assistance develops practical software and technology products designed to help organisations manage health and safety more effectively every day. These tools are built for the people who actually do the work — managers, supervisors, contractors and frontline workers — not just health and safety specialists.
Safety Mate is our workplace health and safety management platform. It brings together risk assessments, RAMS, incident and near-miss reporting, audits and inspections, corrective actions, COSHH records, equipment checks, training records and safety documents in one system. It includes AI-assisted drafting tools and supports translation into over 30 languages. AI-generated content is always a draft for a competent person to review and approve.
Fast RAMS is a mobile-first app for creating and managing Risk Assessments and Method Statements quickly, including from site. It guides users through a structured process, includes pre-populated hazards and control measures, supports digital signatures and approval workflows, and can export professional branded PDFs. A free tier is available, and the Unlimited plan is currently priced at £9.99 per month.
We are also developing AI for Health & Safety capabilities, including AI safety camera systems for hazard detection, an agentic safety manager that works within Safety Mate, and predictive safety analytics. These tools are designed to move safety management from recording what has happened to identifying and addressing risk earlier.

Common Questions About Our Services
What is a competent person and does my business need one?
The law expects employers to appoint one or more competent persons to help them meet their health and safety obligations. Regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 sets out this duty. A competent person is someone with the knowledge, skills and experience to give sound health and safety advice. Safety Assistance can act as your appointed competent person, giving you access to qualified professional support without the cost of a full-time in-house specialist.
Can you support businesses anywhere in the UK?
Yes. Safety Assistance provides nationwide coverage across the UK. We are based in Liverpool but work with clients throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, both on site and remotely depending on what the work requires.
Do you offer both consultancy and software, or just one?
Both. Safety Assistance provides health and safety consultancy services and also develops its own software products — Safety Mate and Fast RAMS. Many clients use a combination of consultancy support and our software tools, but you can use either independently depending on what your organisation needs.
