AI Technology That Makes Safety Smarter

Safety Assistance brings together AI camera systems, intelligent safety tools and predictive analytics to help you move from recording what has happened to preventing it in the first place.

AI for Health and Safety - What We Offer

Safety Assistance Limited has developed a suite of AI-powered tools under the Horizon Semantics brand, alongside AI capabilities built directly into Safety Mate®. These are not experimental concepts they are practical tools designed to reduce risk, cut administration and give you better visibility of what is happening across your sites and operations.

Horizon Semantics covers AI camera systems, plant and pedestrian collision prevention, and edge-AI devices that connect to your existing CCTV or managed cameras. These systems can detect PPE non-compliance, people entering exclusion zones, proximity to moving plant, unsafe working at height, blocked walkways and other configurable hazards feeding alerts and event data directly into Safety Mate® analytics.

Inside Safety Mate, AI-assisted drafting helps your team produce risk assessments, policies and safety documents faster, with a competent person reviewing and approving every output before it is used. An agentic safety layer can identify overdue inspections, chase corrective actions, flag expired training and prepare management reports — reducing the administrative burden on your team.

Across both products, the goal is the same: give your people better information, earlier, so they can act on risk before something goes wrong rather than simply recording it afterwards.

What Our AI Safety Technology Covers

Common Questions About AI for Health and Safety

Is this technology available to use now, or is it still in development?

Safety Mate® and its agentic AI-assisted features are available to new clients now. Horizon Semantics covering AI cameras, plant and pedestrian collision prevention and agentic AI tools is also available. Speak to us and we can explain what is live and what is on the near-term roadmap for your sector.

Do I need to replace my existing cameras to use Horizon Semantics?

In many cases, no. Horizon Semantics is designed to connect to existing CCTV and IP cameras where they meet the technical requirements. We can also supply and manage cameras where needed. The right approach depends on your site setup, which we would discuss with you before recommending anything.

Does AI replace the need for a qualified health and safety adviser?

No. AI tools are designed to support qualified people, not replace them. Every AI-generated document in Safety Mate® is a draft for a competent person to review and approve before use. Camera alerts and analytics highlight where attention may be needed, but decisions about risk and control measures remain with your team and your advisers.

Which sectors is this technology suitable for?

The AI camera and collision prevention tools are particularly relevant for construction, logistics, manufacturing and any operation involving mobile plant or high-footfall areas. AI-assisted drafting and agentic safety tools in Safety Mate are suitable across all sectors Safety Assistance works in, including arboriculture, agriculture, hospitality and events, and mechanical and electrical.

How does the AI technology connect with Safety Mate®?

Horizon Semantics camera events and alerts feed directly into Safety Mate® analytics, so you can see patterns across sites, identify repeated high-risk locations and track corrective actions in one place. Safety Mate’s agentic tools also work across your existing safety records inspections, training, equipment and incidents to surface issues that need attention.

Can I use Safety Mate®'s AI features without also taking a consultancy service?

Yes. Safety Mate® is available as a standalone product. You do not need to purchase a consultancy service to access it. That said, many clients find it useful to combine the platform with expert advice, particularly when setting up systems or working through a specific compliance challenge.
